Hi, I'm Dean.
I work in technology leadership, spend a fair bit of time figuring things out, and occasionally have something worth writing down.
This is a little corner of the internet for things I've learned, thoughts I've had and whatever else takes my interest.
A little about me
My career has taken me through commercial operations, IT support, software development and technology leadership. These days, I spend more time thinking about where technology can make a difference, how to make good decisions, and how to help people succeed.
When I'm not in front of a computer, I enjoy the outdoors, whether that's hiking, camping or getting out on the motorcycle.
Occasional notes
A few thoughts, observations and things I've picked up along the way.
Being smart about being stupid ↗
On recognising simplicity where it isn't always obvious.
73 miles, five days and a rucksack ↗
Five days walking the Cumbria Way, from Ulverston to Carlisle.
Solving the wrong problem, really well ↗
Solving a problem != making things better.
